Summer wave of Covid gathering strength in Czechia

The summer wave of the Covid pandemic appears to be nearing its peak in Czechia. Laboratories registered 3,771 new cases on Monday, which is 900 more than on the same day last week. There were 1281 reinfections. The number of people hospitalized with Covid is now 992, up by 333 compared to last week. Thirty-six of these patients require intensive care. No restrictions are being imposed and the Health Ministry is reportedly not planning any in the immediate future. People over 60 and those with chronic illnesses have been advised to get a booster shot.
