Extreme heat warning extended until Friday

Wednesday was one of the hottest days of the year in Czechia with seven monitoring stations registering a temperature of over 36 degrees Celsius. Temperature records for July 20 were broken at around 30 monitoring stations that have been active for at least 30 years. The highest temperature - 36.9 degrees Celsius - was registered in Husinec-Řež in Central Bohemia.

Meteorologists have extended an extreme heat warning for the entire country until Friday. Temperatures on Thursday are again expected to exceed 36 degrees Celsius in places and Friday should bring temperatures of up to 35 degrees.
