Opposition says government’s aid package “too little, too late”

Deputy chair of the Chamber of Deputies and a prominent member of the opposition ANO party, Karel Havlíček, has slammed the government’s aid package to companies and households as “too little, too late”. The aid plan which is to help overcome the energy crisis and soaring energy costs, was approved by the lower chamber on Friday. The government plans to allocate CZK 30.6 billion to be distributed among end users. Mr. Havlíček said the aid package is six months overdue, since other countries introduced similar measures in the spring, overly complicated and fails to motivate people to save energy.
