More than half of Ukrainian refugee children in Czechia registered in country’s schools
According to the head of the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic, Governor Martin Kuba, 40,000 of the estimated 70,000 Ukrainian refugee children that are in Czechia have been registered in the country’s schools.
Interest among Ukrainian refugees for registering their children into the Czech education system is therefore smaller than the government had expected, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said after a meeting with regional governors on Thursday. However, he said that this numerical discrepancy could also mean that the children in question are either no longer on Czech territory.
