Car sales down by 12.3 percent in Czechia in first half of 2022

Car sales in Czechia fell year-on-year by 12.3 percent during the first half of 2022 to a total of 98,916 vehicles, according to the Car Importers association (SDA). The downturn was especially noticeable during the second quarter of the year. Meanwhile, transport vehicles saw a slight uptick in sales.

The SDA reported that demand is still above the capabilities of most car manufacturers and importers, with problems in production, component deliveries and logistics prevailing as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the military conflict in Ukraine.
