Four Czechs missing after ice avalanche in Italy

Four Czechs are among the 20 missing after Sunday's glacier slide in the Italian Alps, the news agency ANSA reported on Monday. In addition to the four Czechs, rescuers are also looking for 11 Italians, three Romanians, one person from Austria and one from France. There have been seven people confirmed dead so far, among them a Czech woman, according to Italian media reports.

The glacier broke off on Sunday near the top of Mount Marmolada, which is the highest mountain in the Dolomites at 3,343 meters above sea level. The threat of a further ice avalanche prevented rescue teams from implementing a more thorough search on Sunday when the incident occurred.
