Four Czechs reach third round at Wimbledon
Czech tennis players Petra Kvitová and Barbora Krejčíková have advanced to the third round at Wimbledon. Petra Kvitová, the No 25 seed, beat Romania’s Ana Bogdan 6-1, 7-6 on Thursday at the All-England Club and will next face Paula Badosa of Spain. Krejčíková defeated Swiss Viktorija Golubic 6-3, 6-4, setting up a third round encounter against Australian Alja Tomljanovic.
Marie Bouzková and Jiří Veselý already reached the third round on Tuesday and are scheduled to compete on Friday for a place in the fourth round. Meanwhile, the 2021 Wimbledon finalist Karolína Plíšková was knocked out by Great Britain’s Katie Boulter.
