Revised estimate puts first quarter growth at 4.9 percent

The Czech economy grew by 4.9 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, according to a revised estimate released by the Czech Statistics Office on Thursday.  A previous estimate issued at the end of May put the expansion of GDP 4.8 percent.

The quarter-on-quarter gross domestic estimate product growth remained at 0.9 per cent. In contrast, in the first quarter of last year the economy’s performance declined year-on-year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
