Unemployment in Czechia lowest in EU in May
The Czech Republic had the lowest rate of unemployment in the European Union in May, the Czech News Agency reported on Thursday citing Eurostat data.
The general level of unemployment in the EU stood at 6.1 percent in May, remaining at April's level. In the Eurozone the unemployment rate fell by a tenth of a percentage point to 6.6 percent.
Data from the Czech Statistics Office indicates that unemployment lay at 2.5 percent in the Czech Republic in May. The country has had one of the lowest unemployment rates in the EU for several years now.
