Former Charles University rector wants to run for president
Tomáš Zima, the former rector of Charles University, has told daily Deník that he intends to run for the office of Czech President. The statement was made in an interview which is set to be published on Friday.
In a short excerpt, shared with the Czech News Agency, Mr Zima said that he would like to be a president that unifies society and that he wants to present a vision of a satisfied and safe country that is without extremes.
In order to be able to run for the presidency, the former rector first needs to collect at least 50,000 citizen signatures.
