Military vehicles parade brings Plzeň war annivesary events to close
A Convoy of Freedom including 260 military vehicles brought several days of celebration of the 77th anniversary of the end of WWII in Plzeň. Three US and two Belgian veterans in their 90s were among those who took part in Sunday’s events in the West Bohemian city.
Thousands of people lined the route of the cavalcade, some carrying US and American flags. For two years the annual event was majorly restricted because of the Covid situation.
West Bohemia was liberated by the US Army several days before the Soviet Red Army reached Prague at the end of WWII in Europe.
