Central bank revokes Sberbank’s license

The Czech National Bank has revoked the license of the Russian Sberbank which closed its doors shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine after being overwhelmed by demands from clients looking to withdraw their money or have their accounts transferred to other banks. The central bank revoked the bank’s license on April 14. Sberbank failed to file an appeal against the decision.
