Finance Minister: Czech Republic has frozen Russian assets worth close to CZK 1 billion
Thus far, the Czech Republic has frozen Russian assets worth close to CZK 1 billion, Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura told Czech Television on Sunday. If this frozen wealth is designated as possibly supporting alleged Russian war crimes then, according to the minister, there can be talk of a possible future confiscation.
EU states have frozen Russian assets worth a total of around EUR 37 billion. According to Commissioner Věra Jourová, the European Union is planing to strengthen the mandate of the Eurojust EU justice agency in order to invest war crimes in Ukraine.
