Women footballers set to miss World Cup after Iceland defeat

The Czech women’s soccer team now only have a theoretical chance of reaching the 2023 Women’s World Cup after losing a key qualifying game 1:0 to Iceland in Teplice on Tuesday night. The result leaves the Czechs third in Group C on five points, far behind leaders Iceland on 15 and the Netherlands on 14.

The Czech Republic have never made it to the Women’s World Cup.
