Prague to rename street near Russian Embassy “Ukrainian heroes” street
A part of Prague’s Korunovační street, which runs by the Russian Embassy in the Czech capital, will be renamed “Ukrainian heroes” street. At the same time, the city will rename a nearby railway bridge after Ukrainian war hero Vitalii Skakun who died in the initial days of the Russian invasion by blowing up a bridge to slow down the Russian advance. The renaming was proposed by the administration of Prague 6. City representatives called on the City Hall Council to approve the decision on Thursday.
Councillor Jan Chabr said that Korunovační street will remain, but it will be shortened in order to allow the name change.
