PwC: Women in Czechia earning on average less than men

While women have no problem finding work in the Czech Republic, their salaries are still lower on average when compared to those earned by their male colleagues occupying similar positions, according to a new survey conducted by consultancy company PwC.

In year-on-year terms this difference has widened, with women earning around 20 percent less than men on average. Women are also less represented in leadership positions in companies, PwC writes, suggesting that the coronavirus pandemic stalled the gradual removal of the gap between the two the two sexes in the professional sphere.

The Czech Republic currently occupies 21st place out of the 33 OECD countries where PwC has been conducting its workplace gender study.
