Fuel prices hit record high in wake of Russian invasion of Ukraine

The price of fuels in the Czech Republic have hit a record high in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The price of Natural 95 petrol increased by 1.93 crowns last week to an average of 39.36 crowns per liter. Diesel sold for an average of 38.73 crowns per liter, which was 2.34 crowns more than a week earlier, according to CCS data. According to analysts, the reason for the dramatic increase is the rise in oil prices on world markets and the weakening of the crown as a result of the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Fuel prices are expected to rise by another crown next week.
