Record number of tourists visited Giant Mountains summits last year

A record number of tourists visited the summits of the Krkonoše National Park last summer, the spokesman of the park’s administration told the Czech News Agency on Saturday.

The number of visitors to the Krkonoše mountain ridges between July and October increased to over a million in 2021, which is the highest figure over the past ten years.

Krkonoše or the Giant Mountains are one of the most popular tourist destinations in country. Over the past years, the national park has been dealing with a gradual increase of tourists, which presents a threat to the local wildlife areas.
