Czech biathlete Markéta Davidová misses out on medal in Bejing
Czech biathlete Markéta Davidová narrowly missed out on an Olympic gold medal after a mistake in the final stretch of a 15-kilometer endurance race. Davidová was on course for victory, but missed her final shot of the match. The resultant one-minute penalty relegated her to sixth place. Davidová, who was one of the country’s biggest medal hopefuls, accepted the result with good grace, saying she’d made a mistake and paid for it.
