Covid responsible for 23 percent of deaths in first half of 2021

Covid directly accounts for 23 percent of deaths registered in the Czech Republic in the first six months of 2021, the Czech Statistics Office reported. According to the data released, 76,700 people died in the Czech Republic in the first six months of last year and in 17,200 cases Covid was identified as the main cause of death. Compared to the second half of 2020, the number of deaths ascribed to Covid increased by 67 percent.
