Police officer charged for killing man while on duty
The České Budejovice chief state attorney has filed charges against a police officer who killed an aggressive man while on duty. The incident happened in a country cottage area in South Bohemia where a drunk man was demolishing property. When officers arrived at the scene the man turned to attack one of them and the other fired his service weapon. The man died of his injuries on the spot. If convicted the officer may face up to ten years in jail. It is the first such case in the country’s modern history.
