Number of Covid cases and deaths continues to decline
The daily number of new Covid-19 cases continues to decline in the Czech Republic. On Sunday, laboratories registered 3,740 new cases, which is lowest increase for the day since November 7 and about 370 fewer than on the same day last week. The incidence number has dropped to 639 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The number of people hospitalized with Covid has fallen by nearly a quarter over the past week to 4,568 with over 830 requiring intensive care. The number of people dying of Covid or related complications has dropped to several dozen a day, compared to over a hundred in the first weeks of December.
Over 2.4 million people in the Czech Republic contracted the virus since the pandemic hit the country last March and 35.288 of them died of Covid related complications.
