Number of people hospitalized with Covid drops below 5,000
Laboratories in the Czech Republic registered 5,982 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday. It is the lowest increase for the day since November 6 and about 3,100 fewer than on the same day last week. The daily number of new cases has been slowing down for more than 14 days in a row now.
The number of people hospitalized with Covid has dropped below 5,000, which is the lowest figure since mid-November. There are currently 4,772 hospitalized with the coronavirus, with over 880 requiring intensive care.
The incidence number has dropped to 642 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Some 2.4 million people in the Czech Republic contracted the virus since the pandemic hit the country last March and 35,223 of them died of Covid related complications.
