Covid epidemic continues to slow down in Czech Republic
Laboratories in the Czech Republic registered 8,963 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday. This is the lowest detected number of new cases registered on a working day since November 4 and about 3,400 fewer than on the same day last week. The daily number of new cases has been slowing down for more than 14 days in a row now.
Over 5,260 people are currently hospitalized with Covid, with over 880 requiring intensive care. The incidence number has dropped to 671 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Nearly 2.4 million people in the Czech Republic contracted the virus since the pandemic hit the country last March and 35,149 of them died of Covid related complications.
