Inflation in November grew by 6 percent, according to statisticians
November saw the year-on-year rate of inflation reach 6 percent, the largest increase since October 2008, the Czech Statistics Agency reported on Friday. Year-on-year price growth has been accelerating for five months now. However, the November inflation rise was 0.2 percent lower than predicted by analysts questioned by the Czech News Agency, but 1.1 percent higher than was predicted by the Czech National Bank..
November saw prices rise most significantly in the transport sector, especially in the cost of fuels which grew by nearly a third. Compared with November 2020, prices of goods rose by 5 percent, while those of services by 7.5 percent.
The preceding month of October, saw prices grow by 5.8 percent.
