Avast to buy US-based digital identity protection company Evernym

The Czech multinational cyber security firm Avast has signed an agreement to buy US-based digital identity protection firm Evernym, Avast announced in a press release on Thursday. The price of the deal has not been disclosed.The acquisition is expected to close in mid-December and Avast will start offering products based on Evernym technology next year.

A pioneer in the computer security industry, Avast was founded in 1988 and its shares are traded on the Prague and London stock exchanges. Its products are used by over 435 million users worldwide, largely free of charge.
