Czech model Tereza Hlůšková released from Pakistani jail
Czech model Tereza Hlůšková, 25, who was acquitted of drug trafficking charges after serving close to four years in a Pakistani jail, has been released, the Czech Foreign Ministry said on Saturday. The Czech embassy is helping to organize her return home.
Hlušková was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in 2018 for trying to smuggle nine kilograms of heroin out of the country. She pleaded innocent saying someone must have planted the drugs in her suitcase. Earlier this month the Lahore Court of Appeal ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt, and ordered that she be released from prison.
