Number of foreign works in Czechia’s public sector reaches 8,000

The number of foreigners in the Czech Republic working in the public sector has increased over the past two decades by around two thirds, the Czech News Agency reported on Saturday.

The public sector employed around 8,000 foreigner workers in the first half of 2021, which makes about 1.2 percent of the total number of public sector employees. The highest number of foreign workers are from Slovakia, followed by Ukraine, Russia and Poland.

The total number of people employed in the public sector in the first half of 2021 was 652,100.
