Senate has been briefed on President Zeman’s health
The Speaker of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil says Prague’s Central Military Hospital has disclosed the nature of President Zeman’s health problem together with the requested medical opinion regarding his ability to fulfill his presidential duties. Senator Vystrčil said that he would consult lawyers about the possibility to make at least part of the information provided public.
The Senate chair requested the information after the Office of the President refused to disclose any information regarding the president’s state of health on the grounds that he had not authorized such a move. Mr. Zeman has been in the hospital’s intensive care unit for over a week now with an undisclosed chronic condition.
