Prosecutor wants nine years, huge fine for ex-FA boss Pelta

The State Attorney’s Office has called for a nine-year jail term and a CZK 25 million fine for the former head of the Czech Football Association, Miroslav Pelta, over alleged abuse of sports subsidies. It also wants a five-year term and a CZK 2 million fine for Miroslav Janstu, the chairman of the Czech Sports Union, and 10 years for Simona Kratochvílová, a former deputy education minister.

Ms. Kratochvílová is accused of influencing sports grants to the benefit of the two men and supplying them with information.
