Official denies President Zeman in critical condition

President Miloš Zeman’s chancellor has denied that the head of state’s health is in a critical condition.  Vratislav Mynář told radio station Frekvence 1 that speculation that Mr. Zeman’s was seriously ill was nonsense, adding that the nation would see him at a polling station on Friday, voting in general elections.

On Monday the head of the Central Military Hospital, where the president was recently taken in for care, made what has been described as a planned visit to Mr. Zeman.

The head of state’s spokesman said he was active and was already preparing for post-election negotiations.
