Czech PM receives Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán in Prague
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš received his Hungarian counterpart in Prague on Wednesday morning before their trip to Ústí nad Labem, the constituency where the ANO party leader is standing in the October general elections.
Several demonstrators gathered in front of Villa Kramář, the official residence of Czech prime ministers, protesting against what they see as Viktor Orbán’s populist politics.
Last week, during a two-day visit to Hungary, Babiš toured the controversial “anti-migrant” border fence that Orbán had built in 2015 and pledged to send 50 Czech police to help patrol it.
On Wednesday evening, President Miloš Zeman is due to receive Orbán at Lány Chateau, the official summer residence of Czech heads of state.
