Anti-communist fighter Lubor Šušlík dies at 92

At the age of 92, Lubor Šušlík, who took part in anti-Nazi and anti-communist resistance, passed away on Tuesday. He fought in the Prague Uprising against and defended Czech Radio.

During the Second World War, he was forced to work on the construction of fortresses in the cities of Olomouc and Hlučín. He was arrested by the Gestapo and sentenced to death, but thanks to the end of the war he saved his life.

After 1949, as a member of the National Defence Union, Šušlík intended to take part in an uprising against the communist regime but was arrested and spent half a year in prison.
