Volleyball: Czech women qualify for World Cup

The Czech women’s volleyball team will compete in a world championship for the first time in 12 years. The Czech men’s team, however, did not qualify, ČTK reports.

According to the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) ranking, Czech women are currently 22nd, and so are among the 24 teams that can take part in the World Cup, to be held in Poland and the Netherlands.

The Czech women’s volleyball team manager Miloslav Javůrek said the players had worked hard to achieve this result by taking part in all international tournaments, except the Olympic Games.
