Saturday’s rise in Covid-19 cases biggest for a weekend day since late May

Tests on Saturday confirmed 205 new Covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic, the highest daily increase for a weekend day since late May. Last Saturday, there were 72 fewer new cases.

The number of new cases per 100,000 people over the past 7 days is highest in the Karlovy Vary (32), followed by Prague (27) and southern Bohemia (22).

The reproductive number has remained at above 1 now for 11 consecutive days, Ministry of Health data show. As of Saturday, it stood at 1.26, the highest figure since in mid-July.
