Adam Peška wins gold in Tokyo Paralympics
Adam Peška has won gold in the boccia discipline at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, bringing the Czech Paralympic Team’s medal tally up to six.
The 24-year-old Paralympic debutant, who suffers from cerebral palsy, advanced through the tournament without losing a game before beating Greece’s Grigorios Polychronidis in a tie-break in the finals.
It is the second gold medal won by the Czech team – the first being won by archer David Drahonínský.
