Office for the Supervision of Political Parties says President Zeman violated the election law
The Office for the Supervision of Political Parties and Movements has accused President Miloš Zeman of violating the law in connection with his numerous pre-election trips to the regions, which were not declared as part of the campaign. The president, who successfully defended his position in 2018, has denied that the trips to the regions were part of his election campaign, arguing that they were part of his regular presidential activities aimed at keeping in touch with the public. The president's spokesman said the criticism levelled against the head of state was political rather than professional. However, the office is standing by its conclusions, and has warned current government ministers against making the same mistake.
