Tokyo Paralympics: Czech Aleš Kisý wins bronze in men’s shot put

The Czech Republic’s Aleš Kisý has won the bronze medal at the men’s shot put event at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, with a throw of 8.25 meters. It is the first Paralympic medal for the 40-year-old tetraplegic athlete.

The gold was won by Azerbaijan’s Elvin Astanov, who threw 8.77 meters, setting a new Paralympics record.

The Czech Paralympic Team has won two medals so far. On Saturday, archers David Drahonínský and Šárka Musilová came second in a mixed event.
