Prague International Marathon, pushed back to October, now cancelled

The Prague International Marathon, which traditionally takes place in May but was postponed until October due to the coronavirus pandemic, has now been cancelled, organisers said in a news release.

The head of the organising committee, Carlo Capalbo, said that under the current restrictions it is not possible to safely and smoothly hold the race with more than 3,000 runners. Normally, up to 18,000 runners take part.

Organisers of the RunCzech series previously cancelled two other major events due to be held in Prague in early September, a half marathon and a 10-kilometre race.
