SČVR: Outdoor advertisers seek to repeal new Prague restrictions on tarpaulins
The Association of Czech Outdoor Advertising Companies (SČVR) said it considers Prague’s new decree regarding tarpaulins partly covering building façades to be discriminatory and wants it repealed.
The SČVR said it has turned to the European Commission and the Antimonopoly Office in its effort to strike down the decree, due to enter into force in October.
Currently, about 120 large advertising tarpaulins and 1,400 advertisements on public benches are to disappear from a large part of Prague. Some 11,000 places will remain on billboards, trams, and in the metro.
