New Covid cases down on previous week for first time in eight days

There were 140 confirmed new Covid cases in the Czech Republic on Saturday, which was 15 fewer than the same day the previous week. This follow eight days when the number of recorded cases was consistently above those a week earlier.

The coronavirus reproduction number has fallen slightly to 1.07, though it has been above 1.0 – which indicates that an epidemic is accelerating – for eight days.

Fifty-three people are hospitalised with Covid in the Czech Republic, 16 of them in a critical condition.
