Czech economy will grow by 3.9 percent in 2021, according to European Commission

After last year’s coronavirus induced recession, Czech GDP is expected to grow by 3.9 percent in 2021, according to a freshly released European Commission forecast. In 2022, growth will continue and reach 4.5 percent, the Commission forecast says. Meanwhile, the EU economy as a whole is expected to grow by 4.8 percent this year.

The forecast points to the extensive amount of investment during the spring months as a reason for optimism. The main driver of economic growth will be a rise in consumer demand, according to the European Commission.
