Light drones to fight invasive plants in Czechia

Scientists have successfully deployed a light drone with a newly developed unique computer system to fight invasive plants in the Czech Republic, the ctk news agency reported. The drone can locate larger areas covered by invasive plants which are forcing out native species and thus facilitates their elimination.

It appears that the new technology, developed by engineers from the Brno University of Technology and experts from the Botanical Institute of the Academy of Sciences in Prague, could serve for other purposes, for example to protect gorillas in the wild.
