Tuesday saw lowest rate in new coronavirus cases since September

Tuesday saw 475 people test positive for COVID-19, the lowest number of newly detected cases on a Tuesday since last August. Over the past seven days, tests detected an average of 26 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people, data from the Ministry of Health shows. The Moravian-Silesian Region has had the most cases on average over the past week, with the Karlovy Vary Region, once an epidemic hotbed, registering the lowest rates of new infections.

Meanwhile, the number of patients requiring hospitalisation is at a nine month low. The reproduction number lies at 0.78.
