Petr Popelka appointed chief conductor of Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra
Petr Popelka has been appointed the new chief conductor and artistic director of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra for the 2022/23 season.
A respected musician, Popelka previously served as chief conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and principal guest conductor of the Janáček Philharmonic in Ostrava.
The position of principal guest conductor of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra has gone to Robert Jindra. The management of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra believes both conductors will help the ensemble to reach new heights in an inspirational atmosphere.
René Zavoral, Director General of Czech Radio, welcomed the appointments saying he was looking forward to top-notch concerts and recordings under their leadership.
