Adam Vojtěch reappointed health minister
President Miloš Zeman appointed Adam Vojtěch health minister at Prague Castle on Wednesday in the fourth change of guard since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Vojtěch, who served as health minister at the start of the pandemic, returns to the post eight months after his own resignation.
His predecessor Petr Arenberger stayed in office for just 48 days before being hit by scandal over undeclared income and property. It also emerged that he was renting one of his undeclared properties to the university hospital where he served as CEO.
Adam Vojtěch told reporters that he had not planned a comeback, but considered it his duty to lead the country out of the pandemic and stabilize the health ministry.
