Petra Kvitová has been eliminated from the ongoing WTA tournament in Madrid following her loss on Wednesday to Ashleigh Barty of Australia in three sets (1:6, 6:3, 3:6).

Kvitová’s compatriot Karolína Muchová is still in the running. She meets the Anastasia Pavlyuchenko of Russia in the quarterfinals.
