Czech government to approve strategy on facing hybrid threats

The Czech Republic should reduce its strategic dependence on states with differing orientation in terms of ideology and values, according to a national strategy for confronting hybrid operations due to be rubber-stamped by the government on Monday.

The document, which has already been discussed by the State Security Council, sets out how the country ought to defend itself from hostile hybrid threats.

The paper warns that hybrid action may take advantage of the Czech Republic’s dependence on oil, natural gas or nuclear fuel supplies from abroad. It may also be seen in the use of modern technologies such as 5G networks or artificial intelligence originating from states with different orientations, the strategy says.
