Ice hockey playoffs: Třinec and Liberec to meet in final

Czech ice hockey teams of Bílí Tygři Liberec and Oceláři Třinec will face off in the championship playoff final, as they did in 2019, when the Silesians held their ground with 4-2 victories.

Both teams made it to the finals on Thursday: Liberec beat the main round winner Sparta Prague (2-1), and Třinec at home against Mladá Boleslav (3-0). In both semifinals it was the seventh game, so Liberec and Třinec prevailed in the end with 4-3 wins.

Last year’s playoffs were cancelled due to the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, which is why Třinec are the defending champion team.
