Slovak prime minister holds talks in Prague

Slovakia’s new prime minster, Eduard Heger is on a one day working visit to the Czech Republic. He was received by President Miloš Zeman at his Lany residence and is later to hold talks with Prime Minister Andrej Babis and the speakers of both houses of Parliament. The talks are expected to cover the coronavirus crisis, plans for the countries’ post-pandemic recovery and cooperation within the Visegrad group, which comprises the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland.

Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová swore in a new coalition government led by Prime Minister Eduard Heger on April 1, ending a month-long political crisis triggered by a secret deal to buy Russian Sputnik V vaccines.
